Here’s how to create an FTP account in Hostinger (via hPanel)

🧭 Step-by-step

  1. Log in to your Hostinger account.
  2. Open Websites → click Manage next to the site you want.
  3. In the left menu, go to FilesFTP Accounts.
  4. Click Create FTP Account.
  5. Fill in:
  • FTP Username (e.g., myuser)
  • Password (use a strong one)
  • Directory (optional)
    • Leave blank for full access
    • Or set something like /public_html/subfolder to limit access
  1. Click Create.

🔌 Connection details you’ll use in your FTP client

  • Host: your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) or server IP
  • Port: 21 (FTP)
  • Protocol: FTP (or FTPS if enabled)
  • Username & Password: the ones you just created

💡 Quick tips

  • If you’re using FileZilla, choose FTP and Use explicit FTP over TLS if available for better security.
  • Restrict directories for teammates so they only access what they need.
  • If connection fails, check Firewall and Passive mode settings in your FTP client.
