🧭 Step-by-step
- Log in to your Hostinger account.
- Open Websites → click Manage next to the site you want.
- In the left menu, go to Files → FTP Accounts.
- Click Create FTP Account.
- Fill in:
- FTP Username (e.g.,
myuser) - Password (use a strong one)
- Directory (optional)
- Leave blank for full access
- Or set something like
/public_html/subfolderto limit access
- Click Create.
🔌 Connection details you’ll use in your FTP client
- Host: your domain (e.g.,
yourdomain.com) or server IP - Port:
21(FTP) - Protocol: FTP (or FTPS if enabled)
- Username & Password: the ones you just created
💡 Quick tips
- If you’re using FileZilla, choose FTP and Use explicit FTP over TLS if available for better security.
- Restrict directories for teammates so they only access what they need.
- If connection fails, check Firewall and Passive mode settings in your FTP client.
